day 363

Today was the day that "the storm of the century" was supposed to blow through town, and quite frankly, I was unimpressed. I was hoping for today's picture to be of some outrageous weather action, but there was really just a lot of rain and a tiny bit of wind - so much less than I was expecting! We did lose power though, and have yet to get it back, so that's a big drag. But despite all of that I WAS impressed by this delicious dinner I made for Christine and myself! So delish.

day 357

I realized today that I've never blogged about this College Park staple, and I definitely should before my 365 days are up! Christine, Ravi and I went to the Bagel Place this morning - everyone's favorite breakfast place/ hangover remedy. I'm happy to report that it's just as good even when you're not hungover! I'm in love with their multigrain bagels, obsessed with their vegetable cream cheese, and, on occasion, indulge in a delicious pizza bagel. It was a perfect morning treat on this beautiful Sunday morning.

day 347

Look at this crew! (Ignore the crappy iPhone picture though...) We had lunch with Carey and Bobby, the Shadday's, and my fam! Everyone's in town for Meredith's wedding, which means lots of extra family time :)

day 345

We went out to dinner tonight to everyone's favorite burger place, Ruby's!

day 339

Tonight I used some leftover barbeque chicken to make a yummy BBQ Chicken Pizza for dinner! Literally, this was all I did today...I'm so ready for school to start so I can have some substance in my days again!

day 334

Every year we go to Uncle Bill's Pancake House for breakfast one morning on vacation. This year we decided to break tradition and try somewhere new, much to the dismay of a few family members who shall remain unnamed. I've gotta say though, Browns on the boardwalk was a hit as far as I was concerned, and I wouldn't mind if going there became a new tradition!

day 316

Katlyn and I took an adventure this morning to an amazing farmers market/flea market downtown. I wanted to buy everything I saw at the flea market, and Kate and I agreed that all we wanted after we left was to have our own homes full of big empty rooms to decorate with the beautiful things they were selling. There were so many fun stands at the Farmer's Market - my personal favorite was called Oh! Pickles, where you could order a single pickle on stick or a container full of them. (I opted for a full container, obviously!) I also stocked up on lots of fresh veggies and a yummy smelling candle. I'll definitely be making my way back there soon - maybe it will even become a Sunday morning tradition!

day 310

Finally, the real fourth of July! I'm loving that it fell on a Monday, because it just means an extra day of celebrations! Today we had a bunch of family over for a cookout and I attempted to make a red, white and blue layered cake. There were a few minor mishaps, but I'd say it came out pretty well for a first try!

day 305

I just discovered an ah-may-zing cupcake place around the corner from Mike and Sara while Julian and I were on a walk today. Can't decide if this is a great thing or a terrible thing - we'll see how often I end up going back. All I know was that the cream cheese icing on my red velvet cupcake was heavenly!

day 304

Today Julian and I ventured out into the city to get some fresh air and find something for lunch. Julian's still on the milk-only diet, so I got to decide where we went :) Mike and Sara live right around the corner from the famous Ben's Chili Bowl, something I've heard about from my friends but never experienced for myself. I'm not really a chili fan, but hear the hot dogs were delish even without the chili - I tried it out and it was everything it's cracked up to be!

day 300

I went out for the yummiest breakfast today with my momma and sisters - to a place that I've been dying to try forever! It's called the Classic Diner, and it looks so cute on the outside, I figured it would be just as cute on the inside. Turns out, it is! (Everyone else must think so too, because at the hostess stand is a little card with a list of all of the names of the paint colors they use inside! I guess they get frequent requests) Oh yeah, and the food is delicious too :) I'll definitely be returning more frequently while I'm home!

day 275

Nothing says summertime like burgers and dogs on the grill! Happy Memorial Day!

day 269

I took Jack to Handel's today - the best ice cream place around!

day 268

My most loyal blog reader (aka my daddy!) flew in to Philly today to visit :) We went to Mel's for dinner for some yummy Italian food with my older brother David.

day 261

Today I realized I had a ton of points left to spend at the dining halls, and not many days before they closed for the semester! So I spent $40 dollars on my lunch, some vegetables for dinner, tons of fruit, and a salad for lunch tomorrow! Walking home with all of these boxes was interesting to say the least..

day 257

mag and I went to ritas today :)
Ice.Custard.Happiness - truer words have never been spoken

day 227

I made breakfast for dinner tonight! I'm not sure why, but breakfast for dinner (or lunch sometimes in elementary school) always seemed like such a treat to me! Now that I'm making it for myself, and I realize how much easier it is to make breakfast foods than dinner foods - I wonder why my mom didn't do it more often when we were little!

day 209

My dad was visiting Philadelphia this weekend while I was home and on Friday night I had dinner with him and my brother David at our favorite restaurant - the Imperial Inn in Chinatown. I tried to get a picture with Louie and Danny (our favorites) but they were m.i.a. when I finally got around to taking my camera out, so a picture of the restaurant will have to do!

day 191

I made 30 of these beautiful chocolate covered pretzels tonight for the upcoming SHH bakesales. They're so fun and easy to make, and a nice alternative from the traditional brownie/cookie/cupcake bakesale options!

day 190

I think I've mentioned my friend Kevin who works in Hershey this semester? Well we finally got him to stop bringing bags and bags of candy every time he visits (since they were disappearing way too quickly). But instead, this weekend he brought us Hershey's newest product...Hershey Air Delight. It's an aerated chocolate bar - to be honest I have no idea what that means, but it was delish and I'm always willing to sample new kinds of candy :)
